Well Woman Exam

Early detection and proactive care are key to preventing illness and saving lives. Our Well Woman Examination program is built on this principle, providing regular screenings to identify potential health concerns early, along with a full range of comprehensive health services tailored specifically for women.
Understanding that women have unique healthcare needs, we emphasize the importance of regular well-woman exams and health screenings. Our goal is to empower women to prioritize their health, offering guidance on preventive strategies and helping improve overall well-being. We provide personalized preventive care recommendations for women at every stage of life, from adolescence to maturity.
Our Well Woman Exam Service Include:
- Comprehensive Physical and Psychosocial Assessment: We evaluate both your physical and mental health, providing a complete approach to your overall well-being.
- Counseling and Adolescent Guidance: Tailored advice and support to help younger women navigate their unique health needs during this important stage of life.
- Pre-Pregnancy Care: For women planning to conceive, we offer pre-pregnancy consultations to optimize your health before pregnancy.
- Risk Factor Identification and Prevention: We help identify potential health risks and implement strategies to prevent them.
- Breast Cancer Screening: Included in our well-woman exam, we provide vital breast cancer screenings, such as mammograms, for early detection and treatment.
- Cervical Cancer Screening: Following the latest guidelines to ensure early detection and prevention:
- Women aged 21-29: Pap smear every 3 years.
- Women aged 30-65: Pap smear every 3 years, or co-testing with HPV testing every 5 years.
- Women over 65: Screening may be stopped if they’ve had adequate prior screenings and are not at high risk.
- Post-Hysterectomy: Screening is generally not necessary if the hysterectomy was for non-cancerous reasons and there’s no history of high-grade precancerous lesions or cervical cancer.
The frequency of your well-woman visits will be personalized based on your age, health, and risk factors. Generally, it’s recommended that women have at least one well-woman exam per year, starting in adolescence and continuing throughout life to maintain optimal health.
At Blues Family Practice, we are dedicated to supporting your health at every stage of life. Schedule your well-woman exam today and take control of your well-being.
